Rachel Bennett
Rachel graduated in 1991 from University of Cambridge. She spent a year in small animal first opinion practice before choosing to specialise in veterinary anaesthesia. She undertook a residency in veterinary anaesthesia at UCDavis in 1995 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 1999. Rachel has worked in both small and equine referral practice in the UK in addition to positions in academia. She completed a PhD on the clinical pharmacology of the peripheral α2-adrenoceptor antagonist – vatinoxan in 2017. She now works as a freelance veterinary anaesthetist. Since 2019 she has been co-Editor-in-Chief of the Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She lives in the beautiful county of Dorset.
